New Expo Marketing Strategy Gamifies QR Code to Increase Foot Traffic and Sponsorship

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society’s (HIMSS) Annual Conference & Exhibition is the second-largest medical trade show, with an expected number of 35,000 attendees and 1100 exhibitors this year. HIMSS has gained a reputation for being the first to push out the latest technology and marketing solutions in the event industry, and this year they are demonstrating the versatility of mobile event apps by using it as a marketing tool to drive foot traffic to their top exhibitors’ booth.

Adding a level of gamification to the user experience by hosting a QR code game powered by EventMobi’s event platform, attendees are given the chance to win a $5000 Liberty Travel cheque towards a vacation of the winner’s choosing.  Watch the video below to see how the game works!

The evolution of gaming at conferences and trade shows have come a long way since event planners started distributing passports and bingo cards to attendees where they visit different booths collecting stamps. Now that this game has gone mobile with EventMobi, managing attendee foot traffic couldn’t be easier. It’s also gone paperless, is easily tracked using analytics, and it’s a great lead retrieval tool for sponsors and exhibitors! Participants will enjoy playing the game and sharing their score with other attendees while gaining immediate feedback on their mobile device.

Gamification is changing how attendees are engaged at live events. To learn how you can gamify your next event, REGISTER for one of our weekly webinars today!
