Real Results, Real Impact: EventMobi Celebrates GMID 2018

Today is Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID), which is an annual event that brings together leaders from across the meetings and events industry. It’s a time when event professionals can showcase how their events have helped shape the world we all share. Business meetings, conferences, conventions, incentive travel, trade shows and exhibitions have the ability to evolve and enable the way people, business, and communities work together to make a greater impact.

Meeting professionals across the world participate in GMID’s international day of advocacy. Last year, more than 120 events were held across 6 continents. This year, the number will be even greater. EventMobi is taking part in two GMID events – GMID Mexico and MPI’s The Event.

This year’s tagline is “Real results, real impact, all around the world.” In honor of this year’s theme, we’re highlighting some of the many amazing, high-impact events we’ve had the opportunity to take part in through the use of our event app technology.

Pink Pearl Foundation

Pink Pearl Foundation was conceived by 32-year-old ovarian cancer survivor Elise Gasbarrino. It’s a not-for-profit organization made up of more than 25 dedicated volunteers, focused on bringing together young women affected by cancer through a network of peer support and innovative programs. Funds raised provide effective and fully-funded programming for young women, between the ages of 18 and 40, battling cancer of any type.

EventMobi donated our event app technology so that attendees would be able to connect before, during and after the event. The app allowed for the women to share their personal and professional stories in relation to their cancer diagnosis in a safe place on the secured app.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN)

ICANN is a nonprofit organization responsible for coordinating the maintenance and procedures of several databases related to the namespaces of the Internet, ensuring the network’s stable and secure operation. They used EventMobi for their 60th annual general meeting.

At their annual general meetings, ICANN discusses recent updates, developments, and opportunities that influence the inner workings of the internet and thus the lives of many human beings every day.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA)

IATA is the trade association for the world’s airlines, representing over 280 airlines, which amounts to 83% of total air traffic. The association supports many areas of aviation activity and helps formulate industry policy on critical aviation issues.

EventMobi supported numerous IATA Slot Conferences. These meetings happen multiple times a year and influence the way we travel. Air travel executives meet to distribute and arrange departure and landing slots for planes. These slots determine when airplanes can take off and thus have an influence on our daily activities, including when we plan our vacations!

European Energy Exchange (EEX)

The EEX provides the market platform for energy and commodity products for participants in more than 30 countries worldwide. At EEX’s events, top European executives meet to discuss strategies on how to operate and connect European energy markets. The EEX influences the lives of every citizen of the European Union.

They took advantage of the EventMobi event app at the World Diabetes Congress in Melbourne. Over 12,000 experts met to discuss developments and challenges in treating diabetes and related diseases.

Venture Out

Venture Out is a network of individuals, companies and community organizations. Together, they are building an LGBTQA+ tech and entrepreneurship community, with the goal of creating a more diverse & inclusive future.

EventMobi worked with Venture Out by enabling them to collect demographic information during registration in an inclusive and respectful way. The event app also helped their speakers engage with their audience through products such as polling and Q&A.

Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium

The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium provides high quality health services for Alaska Native people at the Alaska Native Medical Center and across Alaska. They focus on training, health education, disease and injury prevention, and rural water and sewer construction.

They used EventMobi’s event app to create more effective experiences during various training courses for Community Health Aides. The learning process was made more fun and engaging, enabling participants to retain more knowledge and become better in their community roles.

In Conclusion

These are just a few examples of impactful events that EventMobi has had the honor to participate in. But all events are important, whether it’s having a significant impact on your company or association, or to the world.
