Stay on Brand

Who Made It: Krispy Kreme

Why We Love It: Krispy Kreme did an incredible job of staying true to their brand. The colors they selected were not “closest match” to their corporate color scheme; they were precisely the colors indicated in the company’s branding guide. As shown in the Home Screen below, Krispy Kreme also used custom widgets that directed attendees to various aspects of the event from Airport Information to Keynote Speaker details.

Customize the Experience

Who Made It: 7×24 Exchange Mobile Conference App – Designed by Dolci Interactive

Why We Love It: 7×24 Exchange Conference App stood out to us as a meeting app that offered attendees key information at-a-glance in an attractive, well-branded way. The custom Home Screen not only featured mainstays like the schedule and speakers but the Dolci Interactive team also decided to add a link to Personal Schedules and the Presentation Library. For attendees to stay on track, all they needed was to 1) open the app, and 2) click to open their schedule. Just two quick clicks and the meeting suddenly transforms from a big event to a personalized education experience. Although EventMobi provides default widgets, Dolci Interactive opted to create a custom look and feel for the 7×24 Exchange Conference that seamlessly tied the mobile and face-to-face experience together.

Challenge the Status Quo

Who Made It: New America

Why We Love It: New America could easily be highlighted as another organization that stayed true to its brand – just take a look at their website and you’ll see how their conference app directly reflects the organization’s brand. Beyond this beautiful design, New America was one of the few organizations we saw challenge conference app design norms. Rather than starting the meeting app experience with categorized features and functions like “Agenda” or “Speakers”, New America gave direct access to each day of the calendar front and centre rather than having attendees navigate into the app and into the schedule; this way attendees could more easily access the education program. As attendees scroll, they could find more full-width widgets providing in-app chat with other attendees, access to the Twitter feed and other event-related details.

We’re excited to see all the incredible ways planners are designing beautiful mobile experiences in 2015.
