Client Spotlight: HIMSS’s 4th Annual mHealth Summit

EventMobi’s new Client Spotlight series highlights just a few of the impressive ways EventMobi Community Members are utilizing our platform to create their custom mobile event guide. For the inaugural spotlight, let’s check out HIMSS‘s 2012 mHealth Summit:

Early December saw one of the healthcare sector’s most highly-anticipated events of the year. The conference and trade show saw a record number of participants, coming in at just over 4,000 industry professionals from over 56 countries; a truly international crowd.

Featuring over 90 high-level panel sessions, mHealth focused on building awareness and education about new technology while creating an environment that made it easy to connect health sector professionals with innovative companies and products.

To do so, mHealth utilized EventMobi’s platform to create an interactive mobile guide for attendees. The organizing team successfully promoted the app prior to the event with EventMobi’s analytics report showing a steady increase in usage in the days leading up to the mHealth Summit.

All printed material distributed to attendees including the front page of the print show guide featured the QR code provided by EventMobi along with mHealth Summit’s custom URL. With one simple click, mHealth participants had access to all of the event’s important information. Onsite signage strategically set-up in high-traffic areas provided eye-catching visuals for the attendees who didn’t have a second to spare.

Using the mHealth Summit app, participants had the ability to read about the speakers, find relevant session topics, and create personalized agendas for their onsite experience. To further promote the app, the organizing team dedicated a portion of the general session to announce the app and introduce it to attendees.

During the event, the mHealth Summit team took to Twitter not just simply announcing the app over social media but communicating the features and benefits as well.

Something we haven’t seen before that really caught our attention was that instead of simply cutting print brochures, some session and exhibitor information was available exclusively on the app, essentially driving traditional print users towards the new digital platform mHealth was providing – a great way to ease participants into the world of mobile technology.

After the event, a revealing point of data was the mobile breakdown which outlines what devices are being used to access the app. As EventMobi Fusion is a web-based HTML5 app, attendees were able to access the app on over 8 different devices including BlackBerry smartphones, Windows laptops, and Android tablets along with the most popular iPhone platform.

mHealth Summit’s onsite promotion and balance of paper and digital solutions led to the successful implementation of a mobile strategy effectively supporting the face-to-face experience.
